With over 85, 000 Art Basel and Art Miami revelers navigating causeway gridlock in Ubers stuffed like clown cars en route to the Prada, White Cube and W Magazine’s – Institute of Contemporary Art debut; the suave and sophisticated guests of the Shore Club and the Macaya Gallery relaxed and refreshed at Daniel Stanford’s 4th solo fine-art exhibit to coincide with Art Basel’s 16th iteration.
The multi-media installation was complemented by a calendar of lavish parties, fund raisers and a transformative yoga- centric retreats under the rubric of AWAKEN YOUR SIXTH SENSE of the FACINASIA series.
A celebrity favorite, Daniel’s fine art graces the private collection’s of Rhianna, Snoop Dogg, and Roc Nation among them. His inspired portrait of Lady Gaga, honors Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta coming out in support of building awareness and finding the cure for Fibromyalgia. Stanford’s highly collectible works met at the nexus of inspired fine art, inner beauty and culinary excellence.
The 2nd Annual Daniel Stanford , FACINASIA solo exhibition played out at the sensually appointed Shore Club – South Beach this past Monday – December 4 tp Saturday-December 9, with a press conference covered by Lisa Sussman. An on-camera spokesperson and Red Carpet host for ‘I CAN TV’ and other major news outlets. A collector’s preview and an ArtBasil tasting of Bindi Deserts by PDF Foods, 4 generations of gourmet food purveyors and distributors was served.
The conceptual structure of the show focused on ideas that inspire the globally acclaimed FASCINASIA series. Stanford’s choice of medium varies from mixed media paintings, site specific installations, photography and sculpture. FASCINASIA is informed by Daniel’s immersion in ancient and contemporary Asian culture. His works bring the sensibilities of Eastern enlightenment to Western audiences where even life itself is com-modified.
A master at eclectic artistic expression, Stanford finds form in a myriad of facets and layered integration; a figure appears as a celebrity character or a quintessential beauty surrounded by the architectural and decorative elements of ancient cultures in an aura of sensational reflections.
Art Basel/Art Miami closed with reportedly strong sales across all levels of the market. As in years past attendance from international collectors and institutions was robust with sponsor Mark Lester, President of Soul Cachaca commenting, “There were more private jets landing for Art Basel this year than those flying in for the Super Bowl.”
The 12th pop-up, culinary celebration ArtBasil.org, featured Chef Scott Calhoun who announced the two hour documentary “5 Star Option, at Home” TV series is slated for Spring of 2018. A decorated Gulf War Veteran, Chef Calhoun and Sous Chef Dan, experts in molecular gastronomy, entertained guests with a breathtaking epicurean showcase. A Soul Cachaca Chicken Canapé drizzled with a lemon-tomatillos-avocado cream coulis, was blissfully finished with basil caviar. The Cherry Salsa Intermezzo (made with 19 distinct farm to table ingredients) provided by the Pizzo family of PDF Foods is a singular Calhoun specialty. The Larry Kline Wagyu Beef Bulgogi open faced soft taco featured an Asian citrus slaw and a basil foam finish.
